Currently, Gamer, a title which requires you to pvp in some form to acquire is not a pvp title, according to the new HoM calculator. While I realize the calculator is in beta, this really does need to be fixed at some point.

First off, ALL of the methods of acquiring gamer points require pvp:
Costume Brawl- Arena style PvP- points per win.
Dwayna Vs Grenth- Team based snowball fights- points per win.
Dwayna Vs Grenth ATs- 8v8 snowball fights- points per win.
Rollerbeetle Racing- Racing against other players- points per people beaten.
Dragon Arena- Dodgeball pvp- points per win.
Dragon Nest- Points gotten by beating other players- points awarded based on how many you beat.

Secondly, if Zaishen, where one can buy the title without setting foot in pvp counts, how can Gamer not be a title? the argument that it isn't serious pvp doesn't hold up at all.

Suggestion: Make gamer a PvP title. if you feel r3 is too easy to merit a title point/statue, raise the required rank to something like 5 or 6.

Unless they add a year-round game arena, they should not.

Not everyone can be around during festivals, since they also happen during real world festivities.

So it would not be very fair.

I see what you are saying, but why does the zaishen title get to be PvP when you can buy it? At least with the Gamer title track, you have to be competing with other players to earn it, which in and of itself is the very definition of PvP.

commander also counts, so there goes the "fairness" argument. Also, you can make all sorts of arguments about what's "fair" or not; bottom line is either you did it and should be rewarded, or you didn't and you shouldn't.

I agree with this.

PvP is player versus player. It doesn't have to be about combat. This title is earned through defeating other players in events. Thus, should be considered PvP.

I rather have them remove Zaishen as a pvp title instead of making the gamer title track count as a pvp title.

but right now it makes sense that the gamer title could be called a pvp title

I have mixed feelings about this. I originally thought the term "Gamer" in the title IN Guild Wars meant that it was the title for playing Holiday Games, not the game itself (Ordinary PvP)

I'm not sure to sign or not sign.

I feel both Gamer and Allegiance titles should count for the PvP title. Moreso, Gamer though.

That one should not count.
That one being added doesn't make it fair.
99.9 repeating decimal % of the players with that title made it by /roll and/or RR.

It's awful when the innocent pay for the sins of the sinner, but in this case, there are way to many sinners.

That title should have been wiped.

Gamer as a PvP title makes perfect sense. /signed

Only reason they made Zaishen a PvP title was because the allegiance ranks were too easy to get and they didn't want to force the PvE'ers to do PvP.

I hope you are kidding . Even let's assume it was true , what about people who synced their champ3 , what about people who did get r12 kurzic playing AB whereas people did it farming kurzic areas later . I could go on with more , but your idea makes no sense and anyone who seriously played that arena knows commander 2-3 is nothing ....

The fact is, PvP = players competing vs other players
Almost all of the festival games involve players competing vs other players
Therefore... the festival games are pvp formats

Because festival games are pvp formats, titles earned from them are pvp titles
Therefore... Gamer is a pvp title

It doesn't really get any more basic than that. There is no reason why Gamer shouldn't be considered a pvp title.

I've been an advocate of this ever since its inception. You earn Gamer through PvP, so it should be considered as such.
